Terracotta libation cups, from Bhaktapur on the western edge of the Kathmandu Valley, Nepal, where black pottery-ware is traditionally produced. These turned and footed pots are formed into the shape of a kapala, embellished with etched rims and decorated with an image of Indra. Traditionally fired at low temperatures, these cups were used for ceremonial purposes only and are rarely seen in Nepal today. Some old damage to the rims and foot rims in the form of missing chips. Age: pre 1900. Choose your cup from the drop down menu when ordering.
