Solid hand sculpted Mogul natural pink sandstone window. These windows were traditionally used in the homes of the very wealthy and important public buildings, particularly the windows of zenanas (women's quarters) enabling women in purdah to view the events of the court without being seen. They also offered protection from the elements while allowing the passage of fresh air. The large size of this window is unusual and rare, indicating that it came from an important building. 250 years old, Jaipur, Rajasthan
